There they saw a great shining city, and they took shelter in one particular Shivaloya, a temple of Lord Shiva. They were traveling, seeing many different lands, when they came to the city of Amaravati. One day Bhagawan Bhutanath, Lord Shiva, as the Lord of all Beings, went to tour the sansar (the world of objects and relationships) along with his beloved wife Parvati. This is the story of the worship to be performed on sixteen consecutive Mondays. Next is the Rudra Samhita, consisted of thirteen thousand verses, this section contain stories related to genesis or origin including how Shiva created Bishnu and Brahma and after they came into existence how the entire universe, the different planets other than earth and all human beings were created. This also includes stories related to Sati and the different back tales with various demons like Tarakasur -Tripurasur etc. Vidyesvara Samhita also consist of importance of Phallic emblem of Shiva, Battle between Brahma and Vishnu,holy places and great temples of Shiva, fire sacrifices, good conducts and many more. It also narrate about the way by the help of which a man can achieve benediction. There is a overview chapter which contains details regarding the different ways of worshipping Shiva and what other different benefits are associated with each method. Vidyesvara is divided into twenty five chapters and consist of ten thousand verses. The recent seven Samhitas, which are available as part of Shiv Puran are the following Vidyesvara Samhita (Summary) Veda Vyasa had originally created a single consolidated Mahapura (twenty four thousand verses) which was later split into separate 18 Purana by his disciples who followed him. If you consider what is included in the Shiva Purana as the name suggests it focuses on the mythological tales and stories related to Lord Shiva, the procedure and rituals for worshipping Shiva, the main pilgrimages associated with Shiva and the stories of the origins of different back tales which were afforded by the demons, by Shiva and what of the guidelines in general for performing Yoga.
